IN HR-MDS, Too much RARA can spell danger1

A normal amount of RARA plays a role in healthy myeloid differentiation. But in ~50% of patients with HR-MDS, RARA gene overexpression impairs cell function and is a driver of disease.

HR-MDS, higher-risk myelodysplastic syndrome; RARA, retinoic acid receptor alpha.

Reference: 1. RARA-positivity based on Syros data on file from Study SY-1425-201 and the SELECT-MDS-1 Study (27May2022) from over 175 patients with MDS.
